ABOUT DJ
DJ was a future Mechatronic Engineer with a scholarship offer and acceptance to the University of North Texas in Denton and acceptance into the University of Texas at Arlington. He desired to attend Texas A&M for its outstanding Engineering program, a standout athlete, he loved playing soccer and boxing with his friends, and a beacon of Black Boy Joy, he loved a good game night with his family, playing Jenga or any card game and dancing to Michael Jackson with his mom - as well as recording skits with his friends. This scholarship will invest in graduating seniors who mirror his energetic curiosity, his kindness and his joy in motion

For us, 8-8-08 wasn't just a birthday; it was a promise that DJ’s energy, his 'Black Boy Joy,' and his impact would have no end. ​
